Our Baby Boy's Nursery!

Our son's an All-Star??? That's an understatement. This boy is a miracle after all that we have been through! and trust me... he will hear about it!

Everything that you see in these pictures as far as furniture goes was bought second hand on www.kijiji.ca (an online garage sale I would call it) as well as from the local thrift store Value Village. Everything turned out so amazing! We decided to go with the Honey-colored furniture because the crib was the first thing we bought. It goes into a toddler bed and a twin bed. From there I bought the rocking chair you see below. Believe it or not it had 3 layers of paint on it. Black, White, then lastly Yellow. I spent hours and hours sanding and stripping the paint. I put one coat of honey-stain on it and that was the end of that. I got put into the hospital and Kathy finished it for me. It turned out way better than I could have ever imagined. The bookcase was also bought on kijiji.com. A man built this bookcase and we bought it unfinished. Kathy stained this as well. It is so nice! Finally, The change table. This is not (totally) in any of the pictures (thanks to my husband-maybe I should have been specific on what to take pictures of..my fault). It is a change table/dresser combo. The drawers are very deep and a change table pad simple sits on top. A great piece to use for a long time. Are you bored to tears listening to my furniture buying?? What can I say I am an anxious new mom!

The bedding was all bought as a set on www.ebay.com. I guess you can call me an Internet shopping addict. I tried to find sports-themed bedding that I liked at local stores and I was wasting my time. I don't have patience to search for months and months. Thank goodness I didn't because the 2 month hospital visit was not in the plans!

Look at my lovely shelf above. I bought that at a garage sale for $1 unfinished. I stained it and plan to hang his name letters from it---when he has a name!

A teacher's son has to have a bookcase full of books right? I have baskets still full of books for when he gets a little older. The wooden toys you see on the bookcase and shelf were Brennan's when he was a baby. Wait till you see our son in Brennan's baby clothes. Talk about Vintage!
