7 months pregnant

I got to go home from the hospital right when I reached 7 completed months!

Into the 8th month now!

I spent 8 weeks in the hospital... 54 nights. It was a long journey, but well worth it to keep our son growing in the safest place possible...my belly! I now will see the Dr. every week until I go into labor on my own.

Mom and Kate's Visit

Mom and Kate's Visit to welcome me home from the hospital!
Aug 21st-25th
Mom took me shopping for baby items in my wheelchair. We also got our toenails painted! She cleaned and cooked and spent most of the weekend enjoying the beautiful weather on my deck.

One of our new bassinets. This one will stay on the main floor for daytime naps. Brennan's cousin Laurie gave it to us. We are so grateful.

Opening gifts from Kate. This tiny outfit is adorable!

Mom in the deck Sunday night. It got a little cold. We lit a fire and just hung out.

On Sunday afternoon we went to Brent and Kathy's house. In this picture: Kathy, Brennan, Me, Mom, Brennan's Grandmother, and Brent.

We had so much fun! It was sad to see the weekend come to an end. Next time we will have a little boy to play with and spoil!

Gerrard and Sarah came over on Sunday to wish us a happy birth. It's nice to have friends as great as them!

Our Baby Boy's Nursery!

Our son's an All-Star??? That's an understatement. This boy is a miracle after all that we have been through! and trust me... he will hear about it!

Everything that you see in these pictures as far as furniture goes was bought second hand on www.kijiji.ca (an online garage sale I would call it) as well as from the local thrift store Value Village. Everything turned out so amazing! We decided to go with the Honey-colored furniture because the crib was the first thing we bought. It goes into a toddler bed and a twin bed. From there I bought the rocking chair you see below. Believe it or not it had 3 layers of paint on it. Black, White, then lastly Yellow. I spent hours and hours sanding and stripping the paint. I put one coat of honey-stain on it and that was the end of that. I got put into the hospital and Kathy finished it for me. It turned out way better than I could have ever imagined. The bookcase was also bought on kijiji.com. A man built this bookcase and we bought it unfinished. Kathy stained this as well. It is so nice! Finally, The change table. This is not (totally) in any of the pictures (thanks to my husband-maybe I should have been specific on what to take pictures of..my fault). It is a change table/dresser combo. The drawers are very deep and a change table pad simple sits on top. A great piece to use for a long time. Are you bored to tears listening to my furniture buying?? What can I say I am an anxious new mom!

The bedding was all bought as a set on www.ebay.com. I guess you can call me an Internet shopping addict. I tried to find sports-themed bedding that I liked at local stores and I was wasting my time. I don't have patience to search for months and months. Thank goodness I didn't because the 2 month hospital visit was not in the plans!

Look at my lovely shelf above. I bought that at a garage sale for $1 unfinished. I stained it and plan to hang his name letters from it---when he has a name!

A teacher's son has to have a bookcase full of books right? I have baskets still full of books for when he gets a little older. The wooden toys you see on the bookcase and shelf were Brennan's when he was a baby. Wait till you see our son in Brennan's baby clothes. Talk about Vintage!

Clothes, Clothes, and more Clothes!!

OUR SON IS NOT GOING NAKED THAT IS FOR SURE!
Thanks Jenny and little Bobby!
Beware... these are horrible pictures of me in my hospital bed... Not very picturesque

My Mom's friend, Jenny who lives in South Florida with her 3 year-old son Bobby, chose ME to give all of Bobby's old clothes to! Guys, these are no hand-me-down clothes. They are all brand new and cute as can be! If you saw the amount of things she gave me you would be shocked! Brennan and I don't have to buy anything for our son to wear for years! What a huge savings and life-saver to us. It is what every new parent wishes for! Opening this box was truly just as good as a baby shower (which I could not have due to the hospital stay). And... it all came from one person! This morning I was so excited I asked the nurse if she wanted to see my new clothes. She went through some things and kept telling that I had no idea how lucky I was. She couldn't believe the quality and quantity of clothing I just got handed. We can't be more thankful. I am so excited to organize and fill my son's drawers!

This is a Chinese (maybe Japanese or Korean outfit). We love it because Brennan's sister Ashleigh is teaching in Korea right now. We had to take a picture to show her that her nephew has a 'welcome home' outfit to wear when she gets home next summer!

This is a onesie that has matching shorts. It is a Soccer team in Europe that Brennan likes and has buddies that are huge fans of. It is Manchester United. I probably shouldn't even be talking about it because I am so clueless. Brennan went to school with a bunch of soccer players and became great friends with them. So he is more familiar with the international teams. Regardless, Brennan thought this outfit was cool!
A lot of the clothing came from Europe. The coolest thing about that is numerous outfits were in French. This is special to us because we live in Canada. Obviously, a French speaking country. Canadian children have to learn French every year in school. Brennan and I thought it was so neat to have a lot of clothing that had words in French on it. Brennan loves to travel and was so excited to see all this European clothing. Our son is so lucky!

My Mexican Dinner-Outside of the hospital!

We got a three hour pass to go out to dinner at a very delicious Mexican restaurant. Kathy and Brent met us there.

I got to wear a new dress that my Aunt Sue sent me from Florida. it was the first time wearing something other than PJ's in a month! I had no make-up at the hospital, but I did have this very cute dress!

Me and Brennan-- just shy of 29 weeks pregnant. I don't usually stand very long. However, we needed a photo to remember this journey!

I have been craving some Mexian food for some reason. We started out by eating tortilla chips and salsa. Then I ordered a Chicken Taco Salad in a taco shell. It was so yummy!
